HP Powerup Backpack Icon

HP needed a new icon that was going to be on their backpacks with built in batteries. They wanted something to easily convey charging, energy, batteries, and USB cord path locations. I worked with the Softgoods and CMF team to see how the icon would be utilized, both material and process. After creating a page of different icons, and narrowing them down, a group of tests were created on sample swatches and on a backpack sample. I was then asked to create a new icon different from the current icon. They had selected a few from the initial batches of examples, and after another round of icons, one was selected. I refined the icon to closer resemble the style of HP icons and it is now being stamped on backpacks around the world.
